Privacy Notice

This notice explains how CatchAllEmailVerifier.com (“we”, “us”) handles personal data when you visit this site or use our verification service. We are the controller for the processing described below and we follow the EU and UK GDPR.

1. The addresses you check

Email addresses submitted for verification — through the on-page checker, bulk CSV uploads or the API — are processed transiently, for the sole purpose of producing a verification result. To make repeat checks faster and cheaper, results are cached for up to 90 days against the checked address, after which they are deleted or anonymised. Checked addresses are never added to any marketing list, never sold, and never disclosed to third parties except the infrastructure processors that run the Service.

Where you upload lists of third-party addresses, you act as the controller of that list and we act as your processor: we verify, return results to you, cache as described, and nothing more. Ensuring you have a lawful basis for the list is your responsibility.

2. Other data we process

• Account data — your email address, display name and a hashed password.
• IP addresses — recorded to enforce the daily free-check quota, rate limits and abuse prevention. Quota records are kept for up to 30 days.
• Usage and billing records — credit balances, job history, API logs and invoices.
• Payments — handled entirely by Stripe. We receive confirmation of payment and limited card metadata (such as last four digits), never your full card details.
• Server logs — standard technical logs (IP, user agent, timestamps) kept briefly for security and debugging.

3. Why we are allowed to process this (legal bases)

• Contract — to run the checks you request and operate your account.
• Legitimate interests — protecting the free tier with IP-based quota tracking and proof-of-work challenges, securing the platform, and producing aggregate statistics that contain no personal data.
• Legal obligation — keeping billing records as tax and accounting law requires.

4. Who sees your data

Only our processors: Stripe for payments, and the cloud-hosting and email-delivery providers that run the Service, all bound by data processing agreements. We do not sell personal data. Transfers outside the UK/EEA rely on adequacy decisions or standard contractual clauses.

5. How long we keep things

• Verification results — cached up to 90 days.
• Uploaded lists and job results — kept in your account until you delete them or close the account.
• IP quota records — up to 30 days.
• Account and billing data — life of the account plus statutory retention periods.

6. Your rights

Under the GDPR you can ask for access to, correction of, or deletion of your personal data; ask us to restrict or port it; and object to processing based on legitimate interests. Email us and we will respond within the statutory deadline. You may also complain to your data protection authority — in the UK, the Information Commissioner’s Office.

7. Cookies

We set strictly necessary cookies only (session login and security). There are no advertising or cross-site tracking cookies on this site.

8. Changes

Updates to this notice appear on this page with a revised date; significant changes will be flagged on the site or emailed to account holders.
